RE:[sap-hr] Warning Enter Retroactive Past

Hi Vasudev

As Jennifer said, the message is a warning only. You can continue to save and complete the transaction.

However you need to note:
a-1)The retro change would cause retro in time eval or/and payroll to the date of the earliest change.
a-2)This is based on the config for the infotype that has been changed in the past. If the PDC retro has been selected to cause change in PDC recalc, time eval will retro. Similarly for payroll retro
a-3)For this navigate in IMG - Personnel Administration-->Customizing Procedures-->Infotypes. Here you can configure for any infotype. If you want a change in secific fields but not all fields, then configure in "Define fields relevant for retroactive accounting".
You can also find help in IT 3 fields like PDC recalc field, SAP Help portal, and also in SAP HR topic SAP HR - Check your basics-Answers-1.

b)Time eval retro may cause changes in output (e.g., time w/t's, leave accruals).
Similarly Payroll retro may cause changes in payments.

Regards, JG

Subject: Warning Enter Retroactive Past

Hi Expert,
I have entered in payroll period 12/2011 and earliest retroactive period 08/2011 in payroll control record and saved. I assigned to personal no in 0001 and saved and it shows warning enter retroactive past. Please clarify.
Thank you,
Vasudev rao
