It's old version is called ABWR and its on the market for 10 years now.
My approach is a stand alone solution using SAP dialogs to select workbooks, but is based on .NET technology and runs on client PC's.
Business Users can set up their desired workbooks to be refreshed and distributed by Email or just saved locally or on distributed servers as PDF, CSV or XLS files.
My tool even supports NON SAP Workbooks that means you will be able to combine SAP Netweaver BW Workbooks (3.5 as well as 7.x) and regular Excel workbooks not being stored on BW.

Bex Broadcasting / Portal Broadcaster functionality is working in my
currently system.
We have been facing problem with workbook broadcasting, when we run
the report in BEx / save in local and they trying to broadcast report
to specific user id. After creating settings to broadcast , we are getting page can't
find.
Do we need to have precalculation server to broadcast workbook ?
