Reply from M_Benedick on Jul 27 at 4:02 PM I have read the initial question and the many responses and agree that the "Salesperson" who told you that, must not be very confident in his/her solution functionality. I just came off a discussion in another forum about responsibilities in ERP acquisition/implementations and the bottom line is that you MUST make sure you provide all the info you can to the Vendor about your requirements AND then make sure the vendor can show you their solution. This will allow you to make an educated decision on the right solution for you. Yes, if the solutions were exactly the same functionality, (never are), I would probably lean toward the newer development. I would also make sure I spoke to references (good and bad) as previously discussed to make sure of the stability of the vendor not so much the software. Sales Reps like that give the sales industry in general a bad name.

We are comparing several ERP solutions for a small manufacturer. I will not name them. One claims to be 100% dotNET and says because the 'other' solution is not it is risky to select them because they future is limited. The client has no programmers or developers. The other solution looks good and has lots of references. Should we be concerned if a solution is not dotNET? | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
