Re: [erp-select] dotNET for an ERP Solution for a Small Company

In a word, no. There are arguments to be made regarding the viability of some platforms or architectures vs. others, but claiming that an ERP built using .Net technologies is better and/or safer than one that does not is pure marketing FUD. If anything, I would lean away from a vendor suggesting such or, at the very least, dig deeper into diligence as such a statement is so glib that it smells like redirection.

Subject: dotNET for an ERP Solution for a Small Company

how important is it for an ERP solution for a small company to be dotNET? We are comparing several ERP solutions for a small manufacturer. I will not name them. One claims to be 100% dotNET and says because the 'other' solution is not it is risky to select them because they future is limited. The client has no programmers or developers. The other solution looks good and has lots of references. Should we be concerned if a solution is not dotNET?
