RE:[erp-select] dotNET for an ERP Solution for a Small Company

I have no idea why a provider would make a statement like that, unless it was the only thing they could come up with to differentiate themselves from the rest of the providers that fit your needs. If you have time, just for fun, make them explain what thier dotNet structure provides that the rest of the providers don't, and how they are going to make thier software fit your needs. That should be an interesting and fun conversation.

Subject: dotNET for an ERP Solution for a Small Company

how important is it for an ERP solution for a small company to be dotNET? We are comparing several ERP solutions for a small manufacturer. I will not name them. One claims to be 100% dotNET and says because the 'other' solution is not it is risky to select them because they future is limited. The client has no programmers or developers. The other solution looks good and has lots of references. Should we be concerned if a solution is not dotNET?
