Venki, there is no PeopleCode event fired when you click on Prompt button. Probably you can achieve it using javascript. It is just a thought and I don't have any code for that.

However if you are trying to make a field mandatory, why not make it required and negotiate with customer to live with that.

I don't think that code customization is worth the effort as there is a delivered mechanism for making a field mandatory.

is there any peoplecode events fire when we click on prompt button of a field in a page?
i want to display an error message if the user not selects any prompt value from prompt table, where can i write the peoplecode to do this?
