The main service used to transfer data out of SAP BW is the Open Hub Service. This service controls the distribution of data across multiple systems. The Open Hub Service uses InfoSpoke objects as the main method to export data. An InfoSpoke is used to define the objects from which data is extracted and to which destinations it is transferred.
The Open Hub Service makes SAP BW the central point from which data can be distributed. This allows a manageable centralised monitoring facility to control the distribution of data.
The Open Hub Service together with InfoSpoke objects can use various SAP BW data storage objects such as: | ![]() |
The Open Hub Services consists of InfoSpokes that define the following objects:
- Open Hub Data Source

- Extract Mode
- This is where you define if a Full extract mode or Delta extract mode is to be used.

- Open Hub Destination
- Here you select the database tables and/or flat files as the required destination for the extract. The Destination contains all Information about a Destination system for data to be extracted to. This includes defining the InfoProvider to be used, the type of Destination, the names of flat files to be used or the database tables.
- Logical Target Systems are used to define the Open Hub Destinations. This then allows efficient monitoring of Open Hub Destination requests plus allowing the requests to be grouped by InfoSpoke.
