All that we have been able to come up with is that the program gets "stuck" on FS_BP_ATAO.iActTAO.iActTAO. I can see the entire SQL statement. What I don't know is if that step is being issued hundreds of times or if it is just trying to process one large insert. Is there any way of knowing how many times a SQL statement is being issued?

Subject: FS_BP Process Abends with ORA-01652
We have been having intermittent issues when budget checking our payroll joural. Our payroll journals are roughly 7000 lines. When the process does fail it always fails on step FS_BP_ATAO.iActTAO.iActTAO with ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by 128 in tablespace PSTEMP message.
According to our DBA the tablespace is set to autoextend with a max limit of 32GB. The program sometimes will run for hours until it fills up the entire tablespace and then abends. Wierd thing is it is completely intermittent. If I delete the Process Instance and rebudget check the journal it may or may not happen again. Sometimes the only thing that fixes it is to delete the entire journal and start from scratch. This will normally take care of the issue. I was wondering if you could shed some light on this issue. Our DBA seems to think it is something wrong with the program itself. I point the finger the other way and claim it is a database issue.
